Birth Doula and Mentoring
~Through soul-searching
and listening more and more deeply
to the women I was working with,
I finally understood that women
have to prepare for birth
in their heart and soul,
not in their head.
And that giving birth is something a woman does
in her body,
not in her head.
Offerings for pregnancy and beyond…
Holistic Perinatal Support and Birth Mentoring
Birth is a profoundly transformative and deeply sacred experience. It is not only the birth of a baby, but also the birth of a mother, a parent, and a new family.
My birth support is centered on families planning an out-of-hospital birth—either at home or in a birth center. My approach complements the care of your midwife and birth team through personalized preparation, holistic guidance, emotional support, comfort measures, partner support, and grounding presence throughout the birth experience.
For families planning a hospital birth, I do not provide in-person labor or birth attendance. Instead, I offer prenatal birth preparation and virtual guidance during labor, followed by an immediate postpartum visit at the hospital after your baby is born. This allows me to support your early recovery, feeding relationship, and transition into postpartum while you are still settling in with your baby.
Support During Pregnancy
Our prenatal visits are designed to help you approach birth feeling informed, grounded, and connected to your body and intuition. Depending on your needs and the offering you select, visits may include:
Bodywork and movement for labor preparation
Birth planning and personalized coaching
Nutritional and herbal guidance rooted in traditional Ayurvedic principles
Emotional preparation and partner guidance
Comfort measures for labor
Preparation for breastfeeding and newborn care
Planning for a nourished and supported postpartum recovery
Birth Support
For planned home and birth-center births, I provide holistic birth support that works alongside—not in place of—your licensed medical care team. My role is to help you remain grounded, supported, and connected as labor unfolds while offering reassurance, comfort measures, movement guidance, emotional support, and partner coaching.
For planned hospital births, labor support is provided virtually. I can help you and your partner navigate the experience through emotional grounding, comfort suggestions, partner coaching, and support in identifying questions or preferences to discuss with your medical team.
Immediate Postpartum Care
After your baby arrives, I continue supporting the mother-baby dyad through immediate and restorative postpartum care.
For hospital births, I meet you at the hospital after the birth for an immediate postpartum visit. This may include:
Early lactation and feeding support
Support with positioning, latch, and hand expression
An Ayurvedic first food and warm herbal infusion
Emotional processing and grounding
Newborn-care guidance
Support preparing for the transition home
Continued in-home postpartum care may include Ayurvedic bodywork, belly binding, herbal therapies, nourishing foods, warm infusions, evidence-based lactation care, newborn-care guidance, and emotional support as you recover and settle into life with your baby.
Each offering is designed to honor the mother-baby dyad while providing practical, individualized care throughout pregnancy, birth, and the sacred postpartum transition.
Using Your Insurance Benefits
My services are available to both private-pay and insurance-covered clients. If your insurance plan includes doula benefits, we can thoughtfully use your covered prenatal and postpartum visits within this model while maintaining continuity of care.
Coverage for birth support, virtual labor guidance, and traditional Ayurvedic services varies by insurance plan. Services that are not covered may be added as private-pay options so your care can be tailored to your family’s needs, birth setting, and preferences.
Insurance plans accepted: IEHP, Kaiser Permanente, L.A. Care, Anthem Blue Cross Medi-Cal, Blue Shield of California Promise Health Plan, Molina Healthcare, Carrot Fertility, and Health Net.
