My Approach: Embodied, Holistic Perinatal Care
Hi! My name is Ligia Soto, I go by Gia, soy Hondurena, born in San Pedro Sula and migrated to the United States at the young age of 5. I am a mother of two beautiful babies, wife, nature lover, yoga enthusiast, and a certified nerd on all things low-tox, (if you are looking for product swap recommendations, I’m your girl.) My biggest passion on this earth is to sherpa women through the transformative journey of birth and nourish and support them through breastfeeding and the sacred postpartum window.
I blend embodied childbirth education, Ayurvedic-informed care, and hands-on support across pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. As a Birthing From Within–trained mentor, I offer education that goes beyond information—honoring the inner journey, emotional landscape, and transformation that birth invites.
My holistic care includes herbal remedies, gentle bodywork, mindful movement, breathwork, and food as medicine—supporting the body’s natural physiology while tending to the nervous system and spirit. Together, we cultivate intuition, resilience, and self-compassion, preparing you to meet labor’s intensity, navigate the unknown, and integrate your birth experience with courage, grace, and trust, carrying this support seamlessly into the sacred postpartum.
My Philosophy: Honoring the Mother–Baby Dyad
I deeply honor the Mother–Baby bond and family-oriented care that follows natural instincts, shaping every aspect of my postpartum support:
Attachment Parenting: Guidance on exclusive breastfeeding, safe co-sleeping, elimination communication, and babywearing.
Holistic Recovery: Nourishing, restorative care in the first 40 days, drawing from my training as a Postpartum Practitioner under Pilar Chandler, Doctor of Ayurveda for Women’s Health and Center for Sacred Window Studies
Lactation Philosophy: I believe in the unmatched power of human milk. While I support all feeding choices, exclusive breastfeeding offers unparalleled protection and nourishment
Rooted and Rising: Childbirth Education and Prenatal Yoga
Prepare for birth and postpartum with a supportive, empowering, and community-centered experience. This class blends practical medical knowledge with the power of embodied practice in the form of prenatal yoga, ritual, storytelling, and art-making, giving you authentic tools for preparation, healing, and connection.
In this class, you will:
Learn holistic prenatal and postpartum self-care practices from Ayurveda and other traditional medicine systems
Explore comfort measures for birth, labor physiology, and common medical interventions
Gain guidance on nutrition, low-risk strategies, and planning for unmedicated birth
Build flexibility, resilience, and coping skills to reduce vulnerability to birth trauma
Detach your sense of self-worth from medical outcomes
Stay connected with yourself, your baby, and your partner throughout the birth journey
Birth is a process of initiation.
While there is much that parents can learn prenatally about birth, pain, and the modern medical system, birth is ultimately synonymous with the unknown.
The task of a Birthing from Within childbirth educator is to awaken a coping mindset and the internal locus of control in parents in order to help them stay present, access all possibilities, and take action when needed.
